Day 11 of Building Crowdwide — Surveys Are Here!! 🚀

I have noticed that I got no new members for 2–3 days...

It's looking very steady.

I didn't want to build Crowdwide like a demo project in my repo! I wanted it to be a proper platform with real users and stats.

So, I have made a few changes.

🎨 Small UI updates

First of all, I made some simple UI changes and added a specific icon for the Waves currency.

Ngl, the icon and currency are looking cool now. When I open the wallet to check if everything is good, I feel like I'm using a crypto wallet. 😂

Lol...

🗳️ Surveys are here!

Secondly, I have added a feature for getting users' opinions.

Yes, real surveys to find out why users are coming back and how they came to know about Crowdwide!

This was suggested by MADAN DHOUNDIYAL, so I found that approach interesting, and here you go!

I have created my first survey, too.

Tbh, I have never tried getting surveys from people and using that data for actual growth. Idk how it works, but this is the first time I'm going to try it.

I'll collect the responses, analyse the results, and try to use them to grow Crowdwide better.

One more thing: only survey answers are recorded on my server. The information about whether you've already taken a survey is stored locally on your device.

So, take part in the survey, devs! ❤️

And I did nothing much other than this.

Maybe I'll find another interesting idea soon!!

🚀 Building Crowdwide — Day 16

Yooooooo... wassup developers!! How are you all?? 😂

So, still no new users... old stats = new stats 😭

Today is Day 16 of building Crowdwide, my social media platform, with 11 users and 40+ posts!

Not much new today, but I added GitHub login/signup to make joining Crowdwide easier.

I also received 12+ emails from companies and 4+ offers from YouTubers to promote Crowdwide. I accepted only 2 because I'm building everything with a 0 budget. I'm 15, so paid promotions aren't really an option for me.

And guess what? One of them agreed to partner with Crowdwide! 🥹 It's my first partnership with a platform owner!

I'm also exploring monetization options that would allow communities on Crowdwide to earn money. But most platforms require significant traffic.

And right now, what I need the MOST is USERS! 😭

BUT THERE'S SOMETHING INTERESTING!! 🔥

According to my stats, Sunday is when most Crowdwide users revisit the platform! They like posts, comment, and engage.

I've also noticed that Saturday and Sunday work best for promoting posts, articles, polls, and communities.

YEAAAAAAAA!! 🎉

Now I need to focus less on adding features and more on getting people to discover Crowdwide and become active users.

Day 12 of Building Crowdwide

Hello and welcome again, devs...

Now I'm going to share the stats of Crowdwide, as you all know I do in every post:

40 posts shared
4 communities

No increase anywhere.

I'm not very happy with this... Steady growth decreases confidence and motivation.

And I made some UI improvements.

I have seen some of the icon places are empty, so I just added them up.

I have improved the feed algorithm.

I have added the help survey option in the menu so that users can access it and participate in it.

There is only 1 response in surveys...

Wow, what stats! (sarcasm)

And now I feel like it's fully polished!!

Yea, because I can't see anything that requires changes.

If you have any ideas, you can suggest them to me...

Well, well, well...

Now, if I have any updates, I will share them with you, but if not... it'll be dead... sadly.

Day 13 of Building Crowdwide!! No New Users, So What's Next? 👀

Welcome to Day 13 of building crowdwide!!

as i mentioned, the growth of crowdwide is plain now...

• no new users
• no new posts
• no new communities
• no new advertisers

and ik there is no requirement for new features or a new algorithm, so when nothing is left, why try something with AI?

i talked to someone on discord who said he could integrate AI into crowdwide, but... that integration was expensive, and at this initial stage, it's just not possible. so i left that idea for now.

but still, if AI isn't the answer, what's next??

🛠️ Making things simpler!

i took the help of claude and shared crowdwide's stats, features, and source code with it.

its suggestion? no need for new features! crowdwide already has interesting things like map-community explorer, community radar, and dynamic feed.

instead, i'll focus on:

• better onboarding to understand users' interests
• making crowdwide installable as a PWA
• better social sharing previews on WhatsApp, X, and LinkedIn

i also simplified the advertiser process by removing unnecessary steps. less friction, more simplicity!!

Day 14 of Building Crowdwide: Partnerships, Smarter Ads & Google Indexing 🚀

Today, I realized something important: Crowdwide doesn't necessarily need more features right now. It needs better ways to grow.

🤝 Introducing Partnerships

While exploring other platforms, I noticed how partnerships help projects connect and grow together. That inspired me to bring a partnership section to Crowdwide.

Crowdwide is built to help smaller communities and organisations grow, connect with people, and reach wider audiences. Partnerships fit naturally into that mission.

The goal is simple: make collaboration accessible, easy, and free.

I'm also considering Koda Code Jam as one of the first potential partners!

🎯 Smarter Community Advertising

Based on feedback, I added another useful capability: advertising directly within specific communities.

Imagine promoting a CPU in a technology community instead of showing an unrelated advertisement to the wrong audience.

More relevant ads can create better experiences for both advertisers and communities.

🔎 A Small SEO Milestone

While checking Google Search Console, I found around 30 user-post URLs marked “Discovered — currently not indexed.”

This means Google has discovered these URLs but hasn't indexed them yet. It's not a guarantee of indexing, but it's a step worth monitoring.

I'm continuing to improve Crowdwide's discoverability so community posts can reach people beyond the platform.

What's Next?

I'm focusing on partnerships, discoverability, and making Crowdwide more useful for its communities.

The goal isn't just to build another social platform. It's to help smaller communities get noticed. 🌊

🚀 Day 15 of Building Crowdwide

A small update from Crowdwide!

We now have 11 members, 43 posts, and 4 communities. Still early, but slowly moving forward.

The Crowdwide Partnership Program is now live 🎉 The process is simple. People can apply with their details, and I’ll review them manually. No crazy traffic numbers or high engagement requirements.

I also made some improvements to the feed and community recommendations.

The dashboard now has a “Communities for you” section that recommends public communities based on users’ interests and activity. It tries to show relevant communities first instead of just showing the most popular ones.

I also improved the feed algorithm:
- Posts you recently opened are less likely to keep appearing.
- Engagement gets a small boost, but it’s not everything.
- Similar topics are mixed up when possible.
- Recent activity matters more when understanding your interests.

The discovery mix, new-voice boosts, and other existing feed features are still there.

I also added Crowdwide’s Instagram to the public website footer.

The main idea is still the same: giving posts a fair chance to be discovered instead of letting follower counts decide everything.

There’s still a lot to improve, but I’m happy to keep building and testing things step by step. 💜
