Day 25β26 of Building Crowdwide β Making the UI Minimal! π
I was building a social media platform for users to raise their voices, but I realised something: too many features can make the UI overwhelming.
I got suggestions from @iamsussyboy85 and two more users to make the UI minimal.
So, I checked platforms like Instagram, Reddit, Bluesky, and Twitter to understand what they show users when they log in.
Then, I made some changes:
- β¨ A cleaner top menu.
- π A simpler side menu with useful options that can be expanded.
- π An updated communities section where users can discover and join communities.
- π A cleaner post composer, with extra options moved into dropdowns.
And the second thing? Widewave!
Some users found it confusing and felt it wasn't required at this stage. This was also suggested by @iamsussyboy85 , so I removed it for now.
And honestly, Crowdwide feels much calmer now!
Frontend design takes time. I can build the backend in a few days, but understanding what makes a frontend comfortable takes longer.
No UI is ever perfect. There's always something that can be improved!

Yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee! π
It's growing, although sometimes things get steady too!
And why Day 25β26 together? I was working on these changes on Day 25, so I'm sharing the update now.
I read and reply to every suggestion! π
