Day 21 of Building Crowdwide!! 🔥
I was building Crowdwide, a social media platform I started for indie devs, smaller communities, and smaller creators to raise their voices higher.
Your voice shouldn't be judged based on how big a platform you join. Everyone's voice should be equal.
And today is DAY 21 OF BUILDING CROWWIDE!!!
YESSSSS!! 🎉
Crowdwide is in a mostly stable state now! Its core features, main algorithm, mailing system, and recommendation system, Widewave, are finally DONE!
So now, it's time to polish the UI.
On Day 21, I focused on improving three things:
- Background colors: The gradients were stretching when users scrolled, creating weird shades at the top.
- Theme adaptability: Some text colors weren't looking good in certain themes, making reading difficult.
- Sidebar: THIS NEEDED HEAVY IMPROVEMENT! 😭
I was so confused about how the sidebar should work.
Should it be on the left or right?
Should opening it compress the page?
Or should it overlay the page and darken the background to keep the focus on the sidebar?
SO MANY QUESTIONS!!
FIXING...FIXING...FIXING...FIXING...FIXING...
AND
DEPLOYING...DEPLOYING...DEPLOYING...DEPLOYING...
AND IT'S DONE!! 🚀
I've fixed these things, and honestly, I think the UI looks much better now!
Still polishing, still improving, but we're getting there.
Now, I think what's left is handling basic updates based on requirements and user requests, along with moderation checks.
THAT'S IT!!
